Is it time for you to assess your life and set some important goals in areas of your life that need improving? You bet! You’ve got a few days now to reflect on your life and be honest with yourself about what needs to change.
This article is all about how to actually go about that process of setting goals and achieving them.
First of all the staggering facts. Most people, the figures are 95%, do not achieve their goals. That figure may surprise you, it did me. Let’s look at why most people don’t achieve their goals.
- You can set goals in your conscious brain, however, when you are not present, which is 95% of the time for most people, your subconscious brain controls your behaviour, which is here your current values and beliefs are.
Yes, most people are not present 95% of the time, meaning they live their life on autopilot. If you are living your life on autopilot, then your current beliefs are controlling your behavior. Change them and you will change your life.
What does that mean, let’s break it down. Say you want to improve your diet and lose weight. You could read the best book or consult the best medical professionals on how to improve your diet and initially you may be very motivated to stick to it and lose weight. However, what happens over time, is when you are not present, which is 95% of the time, your subconscious brain controls your behavior which has your current values and beliefs about life. If your current values and beliefs are to eat comfort food for example, then that’s what will happen, you will revert back to your old behavior patterns of eating a poor diet especially in times of stress and when you are not present.
Then how do we change our behavior?
You can do it, but you will have to work on yourself! You need to install some new beliefs in your subconscious brain, ie reprogram yourself, so that when you are not present you have new beliefs which support you! It’’s not good enough just to do affirmations, or just to do visualisations, or just to do some form of reprogramming, you need a holistic approach.
To get a different result, you will have to do something different or change your behavior pattern.
To reprogram yourself, you will need to experience different thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to what you are having now. If you keep having the same thoughts and feelings, you will create the same behavior patterns that will lead you to living your life in exactly the same way you have always lived it.
Step 1. Create your Life Vision
The first step is to create your Life Vision and give considered thought to what you want to manifest in all areas of your life. I have created a life vision for my life that has goals in all areas of my life, what I have to do to achieve each goal and what I will have when I have achieved each goal. I read this document every day. After I read it I am super motivated to achieve my goals. Research from Dr John Demartini at https://drdemartini.com/ demonstrates that people who are masters of their lives, in whatever field, have a vision for their life. This vision inspires, motivates, and is their guide to what they want to manifest.

I have a great memory. I am a good communicator, a good listener, calm, and intelligent. I have a great sense of humor.
I do
I do daily brain training with Posit Science to increase my memory, intelligence, and processing times. I keep a gratitude diary. I ensure I keep a balance in my life by sleeping eight hours per night, eating three well-balanced meals, plus low GI snacks. Exercising for 30 minutes daily. Drinking 1 liter of water daily and staying connected to family and friends. Reading my Life Vision daily. Visualizing daily.
I have
A long, healthy life, where I can look after myself by cooking, exercising, connecting with family, friends, and work colleagues. Continuing to make a difference in the world. A life filled with love, friendship, rewards, challenges, joy, innovation, and meaning.
The other 7 areas of your life are: mental, physical, financial, work, spiritual, family and social, you can call them whatever you like!
It’s your turn now to start what could be a life-changing moment for you. Your Life Vision. This is your opportunity to take control of your life and do some planning. Most people spend more time planning their travel or memorable events than they do their life.
Step 2. Do your five-minute “Feel as If” visualization every day
The second step is doing a short 5 minute “Feel as if Visualization” each day, of a future you, one that has already achieved your Life Vision goals. For you to be successful at creating new behavior patterns, you must see the future you in great detail, and experience all the feelings you would have if you were more calm, happy, slim —or whatever it is you want to be. Just thinking about a new you is not enough; scientists have proven that to impact on the quantum field of intelligence that we call the universe, you need both thoughts and feelings which are aligned.
What do I mean by aligned? Well, it’s probably easier to explain what NOT being aligned means and then you can work it out. If your thoughts and feelings are Not aligned, you could be thinking and visualizing being calm, looking beautiful, and prosperous, but you may feel poor, anxious, and unattractive.
You may have tried visualization in the past and didn’t get the results you were hoping for. I know initially the mistake I made for quite some time was that I was thinking and visualizing being calm, happy, and healthy; however, I didn’t feel like that. I felt anxious, tired, and stressed. I was sending conflicting energy to the universe. To truly connect with the universal loving energy you need to have thoughts and feelings that align or match. You need to think and feel calm, or more plainly stated, you need to BE calm.
This is critical for your success, as when your thinking and feelings match, you send a coherent message to the universal field. To sum up what is happening when you are thinking and feeling the same, you are actually BEING whatever you want. So if you are thinking and feeling calm, then you are BEING calm and the universal loving energy responds to what you are BEING.
Step 3 -Keep feeling like your goals have been achieved all through the day.
And after your visualization during your day, you need to continue to think and feel calm, or whatever your goals are. You need to continually ask yourself during the day, “Am I feeling ‘AS IF’ my goals have already been achieved?” No good feeling like they might be achieved; you have to feel as if they have already BEEN achieved.
