Wishing you an abundance of happiness, health, and prosperity in the year ahead!
Time flies, it’s already 2024! I hope this message finds you well, happy, and excited about what lies ahead in the coming year. I know setting goals sounds boring, but if you want to achieve anything in any area of your life, you will need to allocate your time and energy to whatever it is. Your time and energy are valuable, and if you engage in a little planning, you get to decide where you are going to spend it — AKA set some goals!
In this email, I’ll be sharing a process I developed for setting goals in the seven primary areas of life, which I call your Life Vision. Reading my Life Vision is something I do every day without fail. It’s a brief document, so it doesn’t take too long to read. By reading it daily, I feel motivated to stay on track and prioritize what aligns with my Life Vision. At the beginning of last year, I set a goal to purchase a country property and grow vegetables, and I succeeded!
There are three important steps in my Life Vision process.
- My Goals
- I Do
- I Have
In the first step, you’ll be setting goals in the seven main areas of your life. In the second step, known as the I Do, you outline the actions needed to reach your goals. In the third step, the I Have, you describe the outcomes of achieving your goals. This step is vital because it helps you visualize your aspirations, and the brain is wired to respond to imagery.
When you decide you are going to create your Life Vision, it’s important to dedicate ample time, so it gets the attention it deserves. Creating it when you’re relaxed is a good idea. There’s a saying that goes — If your relaxed and enjoying something, your power flows into it!
Why create a Life Vision?
Research shows that people who are masters of their lives, in whatever field, have a vision for their life. Their vision inspires, motivates, and guides them towards manifestation. My Life Vision is the most important document I own and I love it! It’s so exciting to tick off a goal that I have achieved and you can too! Try it. It will only take an hour or two, and viola, you have a plan. You’re more likely to achieve your goals if you devote a little time to planning.
Most people don’t have a plan for their life, which potentially keeps them on a hamster wheel of making the same mistakes repeatedly, like:
• getting involved in harmful relationships
• gaining weight
• neglecting themselves
• going into debt
• feeling unfulfilled
Think of your Life Vision like the captain of a ship thinks about their map; without it, the ship may never reach its destination.
How to Create Your Life-Vision in a Few Simple Steps
The first step is to jot down your goals for each of these seven areas.
- Mental
- Social
- Physical
- Work
- Financial
- Family
- Social

My Life Vision is the most important document I own. It’s only a four-page document, so doesn’t take long to read. I look at it every day and keep it where I can see it and read it. How to Create Your Life-Vision in a Few Simple Steps
The first step is to jot down your goals for each of these seven areas: Mental, Social, Physical, Work, Financial, Family, Social.
Please look at my Life Vision goals below for ideas on writing your own. When writing them, remember to use the present tense and phrase them as positive affirmations, i.e. I am an excellent communicator. Refrain from writing – I will be an excellent communicator, since the brain associates it with a future occurrence and you never quite get there!
Mental—My goals
I have strong communication abilities. I am quick thinking, calm, composed, and attentive. I have excellent communication skills and can easily express myself to others. My attention span is good, my thinking is clear, and my memory is great.
2. Physical—My goals
I am healthy, fit, thin, and my immune system is excellent. I maintain healthy skin and hair, and dress in beautiful clothes. I am completely healed from burnout and now possess abundant energy to pursue what matters to me.
3. Financial—My goals
I am financially independent, earning $ every week from … as passive income.
4. Work—My goals
I’ve authored The Secret to Being Calm and Happy series. I use my HeartMath Certification and stress coaching to help people to recover from burnout, enhance performance and relationships. I am passionate about my work and have abundant energy for it.
5. Spiritual—My goals
I choose to live in the moment, feeling calm, happy, and connected to a higher power. I always practice self-love, self-care, and prioritize myself.
6. Family—My goals
I am a valued and cherished member of my extended family. I am a positive influence on my children and extended family.
7. Social—My goals
I am surrounded by like-minded, positive individuals who are kind, and spiritual and who support my health goals.
The Second Step
The second step is to think about what you have to do to achieve your goals, which I call the “I Do” step. Put on your thinking cap and generate a complete set of tasks required for reaching your goals.
The Third Step
In the third step, which I call the “I Have” step, you describe in great detail what you will possess once you have attained your goals.
Here’s an example of what I wrote for the mental category in the:
• My goals
• I do
• I have
I hope it helps you to write yours.
Mental—My goals
My communication skills are excellent. I am quick thinking, calm, poised, and fully present. I am blessed with a good attention span, clear thinking skills, and an excellent memory.
Mental—I Do
To maintain my physical and mental well-being, I sleep for eight hours each night.
My blood sugar remains stable because I eat well-balanced, healthy, low glycemic index foods and snacks every three hours.
I take pleasure in a short daily walk.
I maintain daily connections with my family, friends, and/or work colleagues.
I write in my gratitude diary every day about how my life is unfolding.
I have strategies to handle perceived challenges, such as talking to friends, regular counseling, and journaling.
I establish healthy boundaries in every aspect of my life to avoid overwhelming myself and prioritize self-care.
I pace myself through each day, constantly asking myself, “What do I need now? Water, food, company, or rest?”
I take a break every day.
I stay hydrated by drinking water all day.
I divide bigger tasks into smaller steps to save my energy.
The powerful third row represents what you’ll have once your goals are achieved. Here’s my example from the mental category.
Mental—I Have
I have achieved my dreams and recovered from burnout, leading a long and healthy life. I have a close circle of good friends, enjoyable and fulfilling work.
It’s your turn now to either create your Life Vision. Have fun and know that you are engaging in a process that will change your life, if you combine it with your daily visualization, which you are going to learn about in the next email.
This is your chance to be in control and make plans for your life – Most individuals allocate more time to planning travel or memorable events rather than their life.
